It's time for abortion reform

We support reform to Queensland’s out dated and archaic abortion laws.

Abortion reform is incredibly important to me because at its core it is about equality. Abortion has no place in Queensland's criminal code - it is a medical decision that should be made by a woman in consultation with her doctor.

Queensland’s current abortion laws leave us trailing embarrassingly behind the rest of the nation.

Our abortion laws also disproportionately harm disadvantaged women, including women from lower socio-economic communities, women in rural and regional Queensland, women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and women with disabilities.

We ask members of Queensland's Parliament to support reform to Queensland's abortion laws.

Archaic laws need to be changed, hard to believe we’re even discussing this issue in 2017…

As a doctor who trained in the UK and who offers medical abortion in Australia I urge all Austraian MPs to vote to decriminalise abortion as was done in the UK in the 1960s.

    It’s 2016, not 1916.

A women’s right to choose and the decriminalisation of abortion is long overdue.

As a woman, I believe I have a fundamental human right to be able to access a safe, affordable and legal termination, if needed.
